ACREOL Global joins Rwanda’s artistic community in mourning the passing of Regis Igihozo Nsengiyumva, popularly known as Bingo Regis—actor, playwright, theatre director, visionary, and one of the pioneering artists who helped bring palliative care closer to communities through art.
Through our collaboration with the Rwanda Arts Initiative (RAI), Bingo was among the artists who helped explore a bold idea: using theatre, creativity, and Rwanda’s own cultural language to democratize conversations around palliative care, death, dying, dignity, and humanity.
He understood that some of life’s most difficult conversations cannot always begin in a hospital room. Sometimes, they begin on a stage, through a story, a character, a shared emotion, and an audience willing to listen.
His contribution helped build a bridge between art and healthcare, making palliative care more human, accessible, and rooted in the language and experiences of our communities.
We honour his vision, his creativity, and the path he helped pioneer.
The curtain may fall, but meaningful art continues to speak.
