NGIZWENAYO Scholastique is a dedicated and compassionate social worker with extensive experience in providing psychosocial counseling to patients suffering from chronic diseases. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Scholastique is a highly qualified and knowledgeable professional in the field of healthcare.

Scholastique has spent the last 7 years working as a social worker in charge of psychosocial counseling at Kibagabaga District Hospital, where she provided much-needed support to patients coping with chronic illnesses. Her work has been instrumental in helping patients manage their symptoms and improve their overall quality of life.

In addition to her work at Kibagabaga district Hospital, Scholastique has also spent over 7 years at Rwanda Palliative Care & Hospice Organization (RPCHO), where she provided psycho-social counseling to patients at the end of life when suffering from chronic diseases. Scholastique’s kind and empathetic approach has helped many patients and their families navigate the difficult palliative care journey.

Scholastique has also gained valuable practical experience through a study program at Mulago Hospital Kampala/Uganda in the palliative care department. This experience has further honed her skills and knowledge in providing quality care to patients with chronic illnesses. She also received her training in different models of palliative care in Dakar, Senegal.

Through her education, work experience, and practical training, Scholastique has developed a deep understanding of the physical, emotional, and social challenges faced by patients with chronic illnesses. Scholastique is currently a member of the training team at ACREOL, where she serves as a trainer in palliative care. Her role entails delivering expert-level training and education to healthcare professionals, caregivers, and other stakeholders in palliative care.
