Ruth graduated from King’s College University, London, with a BSc (Hons) in nursing. She spent all her clinical years working within hematological cancer as a lymphoma nurse specialist, later establishing a new support role as a bone marrow clinical nurse specialist. Her passion is seeing nurses empowered and supported to improve their assessment, communication, and decision-making skills. She loves cancer care nursing, as it combines acute nursing with palliative care.

Ruth also graduated with a Diploma in Tropical Nursing from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, London.

Having spent some years in France, Ruth has lived in Rwanda since early 2018 with her husband and children. They are all grateful to have made Rwanda home.

Ruth has almost completed an MSc in Leadership in Nursing and works for a faith-based INGO, mentoring leaders and looking at strategic development.

She is especially interested in organizational health, improving the cultural intelligence of organizations and leaders, and the importance of reflective practice in our development as healthcare professionals and leaders.

She has recently joined ACREOL as a trainer and values working as a team.
